Vertafore Adds AI Agent for Insurance Document Research
Vertafore, a provider of insurance technology and software, has launched the Velocity Document Intelligence Agent, an AI tool designed to automate document research for insurance agencies, managing general agents and carriers.
Available in Vertafore's ImageRight platform, the agent lets users ask questions in natural language and search content they are authorized to access. Supported information includes Word documents, spreadsheets, PDFs, images and email.
Rather than relying only on keyword matches, the agent analyzes the context of a question and synthesizes relevant information into an answer. Results include document- and page-level citations so users can trace information back to its source.
Vertafore identifies several potential workflows, including comparing coverage changes between policy terms, compiling claims and loss histories for underwriting, reconstructing communications around a claim, and preparing account information for renewals or audits.
In early testing cited by the company, research that took about 20 minutes manually was completed in two minutes, representing a reduction of up to 90 percent in document search and review time.
The agent runs on Vertafore's Velocity AI Platform and joins the company's broader portfolio of AI agents for insurance workflows.
For enterprise teams, the approach illustrates how vertical AI agents are increasingly being embedded directly into existing systems rather than deployed as separate general-purpose assistants.
