Princess Cruises Adds Cruise Planning App to ChatGPT

Princess Cruises, a global cruise line owned by Carnival Corporation, has launched a native ChatGPT app that connects the AI service with the cruise line’s travel information and planning services.

After installing the Princess Cruises app, travelers can use natural-language requests to search more than 330 destinations across 17 ships. Searches can be narrowed by destination, date, trip length, and individual travel preferences.

The integration also supports comparisons between itineraries and ships, along with information about ports, shore excursions, cruise tours, onboard experiences and packages. Travelers can check current pricing and availability and refine searches through follow-up questions within the same conversation.

For example, someone researching an Alaska cruise could narrow results based on visits to Glacier Bay National Park or departures from Seattle without starting another search.

The app initially will be available through ChatGPT. Princess Cruises said it intends to support additional compatible AI platforms later, depending on their availability and technical requirements.

For developers and enterprise IT teams, the integration illustrates how companies can expose existing digital services directly inside conversational AI platforms. Instead of requiring customers to begin product discovery on a conventional website or mobile app, businesses can make their data and transaction workflows accessible from the AI interfaces customers already use.
