Constructor Adds Stripe Checkout to AI Shopping Agents
Constructor, a provider of AI-powered e-commerce search and product discovery software, has introduced Agentic Checkout, adding Stripe-powered purchasing to its AI shopping agents for retailers.
The capability lets shoppers discover products, request personalized recommendations, ask product-specific questions and complete purchases within the same conversational interface. Payments can be made using Link by Stripe or other supported methods.
Agentic Checkout is initially available through Constructor's AI Shopping Agent and AI Product Insights Agent. The former helps customers find products using natural-language requests and information about their context, history and intent, while the latter answers questions on product pages.
Constructor said retailers already using its agents can enable the capability by updating its UI library and adding Stripe credentials. Companies that do not currently use Stripe for their broader payment infrastructure can also deploy Stripe for Agentic Checkout without replacing their existing payment setup.
Constructor plans to extend the capability to additional areas of retailers' digital properties later this year.
For enterprise development teams, the launch illustrates the shift from AI assistants that recommend products toward agents capable of completing transactions. That expands integration requirements beyond product catalogs and search to include payment systems, customer identity and other commerce infrastructure.
