BambooHR Adds Claude Connector for HR Data and Workflows
BambooHR, a provider of cloud-based human resources management software, has launched a connector for Anthropic's Claude AI assistant, allowing employees, managers and HR administrators to access workforce information and complete tasks through natural-language conversations.
The integration is the first built on BambooHR's new Model Context Protocol (MCP) connection layer, which links its HR platform with external AI tools.
HR administrators can run reports, analyze headcount by department or location, review job openings, and retrieve applicant information. Employees can check leave balances, submit time-off requests, and look up colleagues, while managers can review team availability and employee goals.
The connector retrieves information directly from BambooHR rather than requiring data exports. Access remains limited to each user's existing BambooHR permissions.
For enterprise IT teams, permission-aware MCP integrations offer a way to connect AI assistants with business systems while retaining established access controls. However, organizations still need to evaluate how sensitive employee information is handled across connected applications.
The Claude connector is available in open beta at no additional charge to BambooHR customers with an active Claude account.
