Lectrium Adds AI Agent to Car Dealership Websites

Lectrium, a provider of AI-powered automotive retail technology for dealerships, has launched Lumi, an AI agent that runs on dealership vehicle detail pages and helps shoppers research and compare cars without leaving the dealer's website.

The agent can answer questions about individual vehicles, find alternatives in a dealer's inventory, and provide information on trims, incentives, and dealership policies. It supports gasoline, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric vehicles, including questions about EV charging, range, and ownership costs.

Lumi's agent architecture combines inventory search, web search, and information retrieval with data from vehicle feeds, manufacturers, the EPA, and other government sources. It supports models from multiple LLM providers rather than relying on a single model.

When shoppers are ready to contact a dealership, Lumi can submit lead information into its CRM. Dealers can also customize the agent's knowledge and voice around their businesses.

Germain Automotive Partnership has deployed Lumi across 17 dealership websites covering new and used vehicles. Lectrium itself serves more than 500 active dealership customers and said Lumi integrates with major dealership website and inventory-feed providers.

For developers, the architecture reflects a broader shift from website chatbots toward agents grounded in business-specific data and connected to operational systems. Those integrations can make agents more useful, but they also increase the importance of data accuracy, permissions, and monitoring when AI-generated conversations feed directly into sales workflows.
