BigID Adds Agentic Automation Layer for Data Security and Compliance

BigID, a provider of data security, privacy, and AI governance software, has introduced AgentIQ, an agentic automation layer designed to let organizations deploy AI agents across data security, privacy, governance, and compliance workflows. BigID AgentIQ brings full agentic controls to customers to simplify BigID operations for data and AI security/compliance.

AgentIQ builds on BigID's existing data intelligence platform, allowing agents to use information about an organization's data to identify issues and initiate actions. The company is positioning the technology as a way to move beyond AI assistants that primarily provide recommendations toward agents capable of completing multistep operational tasks.

The agents can support workflows involving data discovery and classification, security posture management, privacy operations, and compliance. Organizations can use prebuilt agents or configure workflows around their own policies and requirements.

BigID said AgentIQ includes governance mechanisms intended to control what agents can access and which actions they can perform. That becomes particularly important when automation can modify security settings, handle sensitive information or trigger remediation across enterprise systems.

While AgentIQ is available from inside BigID, AgentIQ can also deliver BigID wherever teams already work, with no new interface to adopt and no security analyst required to run a query on Claude, GPT, Gemini, Copilot, Custom enterprise agents, internal AI platforms, and BigID itself.

AgentIQ reflects a broader move by enterprise software vendors to embed autonomous agents directly into management platforms, where they can use existing organizational context and controls rather than operating as standalone AI tools.
