Apica Adds AI-Assisted Management to Telemetry Platform
Apica, a provider of telemetry management and observability software, has released Ascent 3.0, adding natural-language management capabilities across its Flow, Observe and Fleet telemetry products. The release introduces Venn, an AI assistant that can create pipeline rules, manage telemetry agents, and configure alerts and dashboards.
Changes initiated through Venn pass through a review process before they are applied. Actions that could delete or materially alter configurations require administrator approval, while destructive capabilities such as deleting data streams or disabling collectors are turned off by default.
A new flow-only mode processes telemetry without using Apica's Lake storage layer. Apica said the configuration delivered up to 10 times faster telemetry movement in its engineering benchmarks.
For enterprise operations teams, the combination highlights an emerging role for agentic AI in observability: moving from explaining telemetry to modifying the infrastructure that handles it. That makes approval controls increasingly important because an incorrect agent action could affect monitoring coverage or data pipelines rather than simply produce a bad answer.
Ascent 3.0 is generally available within Apica's existing subscription tiers.
