Abacus Launches Managed AI Initiative for Regulated Industries

Abacus, a provider of managed IT and cybersecurity services for regulated industries, has launched AI³, or Abacus AI Acceleration, a managed services initiative designed to help regulated enterprises move AI projects from experimentation into production while addressing governance and compliance requirements.

The initiative builds on Abacus partnerships with OpenAI, Google and Microsoft. The company also said it has completed more than a dozen deployments involving Anthropic's Claude models. Abacus intends to remain model- and vendor-agnostic, allowing customers to select technologies based on business, risk and regulatory requirements.

AI³ spans governance and compliance, integration, operations, monitoring, and continued development. It includes new offerings, extensions to existing Abacus services, and an AI Risk and Readiness Assessment aimed at financial services and health care organizations evaluating their AI maturity.

Abacus is also applying agentic AI internally. An agentic layer provides technicians with context-aware assistance when responding to customer requests, according to the company.

For enterprise IT teams, the initiative reflects a shift in AI adoption from selecting individual models toward managing the infrastructure, security, and operational controls surrounding them. Regulated organizations in particular must account for data access, model choice, compliance, and ongoing monitoring as AI becomes embedded in production workflows.

Abacus already provides managed IT, multicloud, cybersecurity, and incident-response services, giving the company an existing operational footprint from which to add AI management.
