Varonis Atlas Connects to Claude Inference Hooks

Varonis, a provider of data security and threat detection software, has integrated its Atlas platform with Anthropic's Claude Inference Hooks, adding runtime security controls designed to govern how AI systems interact with enterprise data.

The integration allows Varonis Atlas to evaluate data access while Claude is processing a request, providing organizations with a mechanism to identify sensitive information and apply security policies during AI inference. The approach is intended to prevent unauthorized data from reaching users through Claude-powered applications and agents.

Atlas enforces consistent policies and guardrails across the entire Claude enterprise suite, including Claude Chat, Claude Design, Claude Enterprise, Claude Platform, Claude Cowork, and Claude Code. It also inspects the transcript and attachment text on every prompt and takes action in real time, including denying requests that would expose regulated, classified, or sensitive data before a response is generated.

For security teams, runtime enforcement addresses a challenge that becomes more significant as enterprises connect AI to internal repositories. An employee may be authorized to use an AI application without necessarily having permission to access every document or record the application can retrieve.

For enterprise developers, such integrations can reduce the need to build separate authorization logic into every AI application while helping security teams retain centralized visibility over sensitive-data access. Atlas support for Claude is one piece of an end-to-end approach to AI security.
