Unimarket Brings AI Assistant to Source-to-Pay Platform
Unimarket, a provider of cloud-based procurement software, has introduced Beacon, a new AI capability integrated into its source-to-pay platform that is designed to help procurement teams automate routine tasks and make faster purchasing decisions.
Beacon uses generative AI to assist users throughout the procurement lifecycle, including supplier discovery, sourcing, purchasing, contract management and spend analysis. Rather than requiring users to switch to separate AI tools, Beacon is embedded directly into the Unimarket platform, allowing procurement professionals to retrieve information, generate insights and complete common workflows through natural language interactions.
According to Unimarket, the AI assistant is intended to reduce administrative work while helping procurement teams improve productivity and make more informed purchasing decisions. The company said users remain in control of approvals and procurement processes, with AI serving as an assistant rather than replacing existing governance controls. Unimarket serves organizations across higher education, healthcare, government, research institutions, and enterprise markets in the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, and Beacon is rolling out across the platform in all these markets.
