Commvault Expands Cloud Rewind for AI and Cloud Application Recovery

Commvault, a provider of data protection and cyber resilience software, has expanded Cloud Rewind with additional coverage for cloud-native and AI workloads, broadening the service's ability to restore applications and their underlying dependencies following disruptions. The advancements expand Microsoft Azure resource coverage for configuration protection and recovery.

Cloud Rewind is designed to reconstruct cloud applications by identifying relationships among infrastructure, configurations and data rather than recovering individual resources separately. The expanded coverage targets increasingly complex applications that combine cloud services, data platforms and AI infrastructure, where restoring data alone may not return an application to an operational state.

The enhancements allow organizations to map dependencies and automate recovery workflows across more cloud resources. That approach is intended to reduce the manual work involved in rebuilding application environments after ransomware attacks, configuration failures or other outages.

Organizations can also validate recovery readiness through application recovery simulations, including within isolated, air-gapped environments, before an incident occurs. Cloud Rewind, available today, is delivered as an add-on workload within Commvault Cloud for cloud application protection and app-centric recovery.
