Delinea Introduces Runtime Authorization for Enterprise AI Agents

Delinea, a cybersecurity company focused on privileged access management, has introduced runtime authorization for AI agents, adding continuous access controls designed to govern what autonomous AI systems are permitted to do as they interact with enterprise applications, infrastructure, and data.

Runtime authorization for AI agents delivers consistent policy and complete audit records, no standing credentials that can be exploited, enforced policy for every action built specifically for agents, and a complete defensible record tied to named identity.

The new capability evaluates authorization requests at the moment an AI agent attempts to perform a privileged action rather than relying solely on static credentials or permissions assigned earlier in a workflow. By applying just-in-time authorization and policy-based controls, organizations can enforce least-privilege access for AI agents while maintaining audit trails and governance over actions taken across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments. The technology is intended to reduce the risks associated with overprivileged non-human identities and autonomous workflows.

According to Delinea, runtime authorization enables organizations to make access decisions based on identity, context and organizational policies, allowing permissions to be granted, modified or revoked as AI agents execute tasks. The company positions the capability as part of its broader identity security platform for managing both human and machine identities. Delinea will be demonstrating these capabilities at Black Hat (booth #2367) and Ai4 (booth #946), both taking place August 4-6 in Las Vegas.
