Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Nvidia Launch AI Solutions Portfolio

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and Nvidia unveiled a new portfolio of co-developed AI solutions this week, branded as "Nvidia AI Computing by HPE," aimed at accelerating the adoption of generative AI in enterprises.

A centerpiece of this portfolio is the HPE Private Cloud AI, which offers an advanced integration of Nvidia’s AI computing, networking, and software with HPE’s AI storage, compute capabilities, and the HPE GreenLake cloud. This solution promises a fast, energy-efficient, and flexible path for enterprises to develop and deploy generative AI applications sustainably. The new OpsRamp AI copilot feature enhances IT operations by improving workload and IT efficiency.

The HPE Private Cloud AI is available in four configurations to support various AI workloads.

All offerings and services within the Nvidia AI Computing by HPE portfolio will be available through a joint go-to-market strategy, involving sales teams, channel partners, and a global network of system integrators such as Deloitte, HCLTech, Infosys, TCS, and Wipro. These partners will assist enterprises across different industries in running complex AI workloads.

The announcement was made during the HPE Discover 2024 keynote by HPE President and CEO Antonio Neri, alongside Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang. This new initiative represents an expansion of the long-standing partnership between the two companies, reflecting significant investment in time and resources.

“Generative AI holds immense potential for enterprise transformation, but fragmented AI technology introduces risks and barriers that hinder large-scale adoption and jeopardize proprietary data,” said Neri. “Our co-developed private cloud for AI with Nvidia enables enterprises to focus resources on developing new AI use cases that can boost productivity and unlock new revenue streams.”

Huang added, “Generative AI and accelerated computing are driving a fundamental transformation as every industry races to join the industrial revolution. Our integrated technologies equip enterprises and AI professionals with the most advanced computing infrastructure and services.”

The HPE Private Cloud AI offers unique features, including support for various AI workloads, enhanced data privacy, security, transparency, and governance, and IT operations capabilities to increase productivity. It is built on the Nvidia AI Enterprise software platform, which includes Nvidia NIM inference microservices for optimized AI model deployment. Complementing this, HPE AI Essentials software provides a curated set of AI and data tools with a unified control plane.

To ensure optimal performance, the HPE Private Cloud AI integrates Nvidia Spectrum-X Ethernet networking, HPE GreenLake for File Storage, and HPE ProLiant servers, supporting Nvidia’s latest GPU platforms.

HPE GreenLake cloud services enable a self-service cloud experience, offering manageability and observability for hybrid environments. OpsRamp’s IT operations, integrated with HPE GreenLake cloud, provide observability and AIOps for the Nvidia accelerated computing stack, enhancing productivity through a conversational assistant.

Global system integrators like Deloitte, HCLTech, Infosys, TCS, and Wipro support the Nvidia AI Computing by HPE portfolio, aiming to deliver AI solutions with clear business benefits.

HPE is also enhancing its product offerings with support for Nvidia’s latest GPUs, CPUs, and superchips, ensuring a time-to-market advantage. The new HPE Cray XD670, HPE ProLiant DL384 Gen12, and HPE ProLiant DL380a Gen12 servers are designed for various AI workloads and will be available later this year.

HPE GreenLake for File Storage has achieved Nvidia DGX BasePOD certification and Nvidia OVX storage validation, offering a proven enterprise file storage solution for AI and GPU-intensive workloads.

HPE Private Cloud AI is expected to be generally available in the fall, along with the new HPE ProLiant DL380a Gen12 and DL384 Gen12 servers. The HPE Cray XD670 server will be available in the summer.
