Teradata Launches Analytics Platform with Built-In Machine Learning
Teradata this week announced the launch of Teradata Vantage, a new analytics platform that boasts a built-in machine learning engine, among other features.
The platform also features "a wide variety of descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics; autonomous decision making [and] visualization tools," the company said in its announcement of the product. And it can run on-premises, in the cloud or as a service.
Teradata Vantage can work with SQL, R and Python, and can interface with visualization and BI tools like RStudio, SAS and Jupyter. "Users can...access and analyze all their data without having to learn a new tool or language, or worry about where data is located," the company commented. "This streamlined access is bolstered by Vantage's integration with popular third-party tools and analytic languages, meeting users where they are and allowing them to work in the environments they already know best."
As for data support, relational, spatial and temporal are covered, as are JSON, XML, Avro and time-series formats.
According to the product's data sheet, Teradata Vantage's machine learning engine features "more than 100 prebuilt analytic functions for path, pattern, statistical, and text analytics to solve a range of business problems. Functions range from understanding sentiment to predictive part failure analysis."
More information about the product can be found on the company's Web site here.
