Python, Machine Learning Among Top 5 Most Desired Dev Skills
According to Hacker News' latest Hiring Trends analysis (based on the language in its candidate wanted postings), Python (No. 2) and machine learning (No. 4) are in the top five of most desired skills by those hiring developers.
They're surrounded by Web-focused skills, with React at No. 1, JavaScript at No. 3 and "full stack" at No. 5.
In surveys, Python is often found to be the most popular language for machine learning. And machine learning is, well, machine learning, so obviously companies are looking for these skills.

It's no surprise that artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning language and skills are desired by companies -- and skilled developers can be hard to find, particularly in the enterprise.
At the same time, there are concerns that AI may reduce the number of developer jobs available overall in the long run -- although, a recent competition showed that human programmers can still outperform their AI-powered counterparts.
